Let yourself be carried away by the flavours of our “Viré-Clesse – Château de Besseuil” wine. For many years, the vineyard has been in the care of Jean Thévenet et Fils, a renowned winegrower and winemaker.

The 2005 vintage of “Viré-Clessé - Château de Besseuil” speaks for itself:
A pale yellow robe, light and bright with pretty tears in the glass. A fragrant nose with citrus aromas and a hint of white flowers and mineral quality.
It has a rich mouth, pure and mineral, with a distinctive touch of acidity and subtle honey aromas. To enjoy this vintage, the wine should first be poured into decanter to enable it to express its full aroma, but it can also be kept in a cellar for a few years (about 10-15 years).
A white wine worthy of the great Burgundian classics. Serve at a temperature of ̀ 14°-15° C.

The Château de Besseuil is located between Mâcon and Chalon-sur-Saône, in an internationally renowed winegrowing region. Under the expert direction of Jean Thévenet, a Chardonnay wine – AOC Viré-Clessé - came into existence in these vineyards.

Since 1972, Jean Thévenet has drawn on the traditional methods handed down by his father and today, in partnership with his son, he produces his own exceptional wines.

An organic approach to winegrowing was adopted in 2008. The Château de Besseuil vineyard is cultivated in strict compliance with tradition by Jean Thévenet et Fils, a winegrower and winemaker internationally recognised by his peers.
